WEDDING PHOTOS
How many photos do I get?
This depends on what package you choose. Three hours of shooting will generate at least 200 quality images, edited by a professional. Ten hours of shooting will generate more than 600 images.
How big are the photos?
You will receive both high-resolution photos (for framed wall prints) as well as low-resolution photos (for your social media posts or phone.)

Do you shoot candids, or are all shots posed?
We shoot both. Photos taken during formal parts of the ceremony or reception are candid. Photos taken during the Family Formals or Bridal Party photo shoot are posed ... because it is much more efficient to direct all group photos, especially during a tight time frame.
As an artist, I strive to capture you at your very best. I will give you guidance and direction so you don't look awkward. I will give you fun prompts to engender a laugh, smile, or express the joy you are both feeling.
If you want an unobtrusive, 'journalistic' photographer, I am not for you :-)

Do you shoot pictures large enough to go on a wall?
Yes, our pro cameras have a high pixel count, so your high resolution images can be printed and framed.

Do you supply prints?
Yes, we can arrange for your digital photos to be printed out at a professional lab.
​
How do we receive our wedding photos?
Initially, you can view a Sneak Peek via an on-line gallery 1-3 days after the wedding.
Later we send all the edited images on a USB Key (Flash drive) to your address.
These elegant USB sticks are housed inside an elegant presentation box.

How soon will we get our wedding photos?
We aim to deliver all the photos within four weeks. Usually within one week, you should have a sample hosted on a gallery on-line.

Do you use our wedding photos on-line?
Sometimes we will post the very best images on our website, Instagram or Facebook business pages to attract new clients. If you aren't happy with this, please notify us.

Will you help us with our Timeline?
Yes. Our job as photographers is to help you plan a stress-free day, so nothing feels rushed. Over a coffee, we can brainstorm the best locations for your portrait sessions, wet-weather contingency plans, and travel times.

Will you attend our wedding rehearsal?
Yes, we usually come to the rehearsal, to finalise arrangements, meet some key vendors, as well as look at the light direction at that time of day.

PHOTO ALBUMS
Do you design photo albums?
Yes. Ray is a qualified graphic designer with lots of experience designing books.
We currently use bespoke luxury Queensberry albums. See samples.

Can I choose the images for our album?
Yes. Ray will paginate the 30 or so pages featuring the very best images. You will then be sent a digital proof, whereby you can reject and replace photos.
WEDDING VIDEOS
Can you video our wedding day?
Yes, we have filmed over 50 weddings around New Zealand.
Sometimes we hire a 'second shooter' to get more camera angles of the ceremony.

Do you record quality audio of the Vows and Speeches?
Yes, we use tiny lavalier microphones on the Groom and the Celebrant to record all speaking during the ceremony. We also record all reception speeches, using quality audio equipment.

Will you put our favourite music in the final, edited videos?
Yes and no. We produce 5-10 minute highlight movies with an instrumental soundtrack that's copyright-free, so the on-line movie won't be taken down.
However, we'll use the exact tunes played during the ceremony or first dance on the edited documentary movies, as you'll be watching these in a private residence.

How do you supply our edited wedding movies?
We give you the edited HD videos on a USB stick (flash drive), and advise you to make a back-up copy. We also post your highlights movie on-line so you can share them on social media the same week. The highlights movie is from 5-10 minutes long ... perfect to show to your absent friends and relatives overseas.
You also get the full ceremony documentary. This movie is typically half an hour in duration, too large to upload to the Internet.
In addition, you get the full reception documentary. This features all the formal speeches, combined with the grand entrance, cake cutting, and your first dance.

OTHER QUESTIONS
Can our friends buy Gift Vouchers from you?
Yes. If you have generous relatives, they can contribute to your wedding photo or video costs, or perhaps pay for that luxury Photo Album.

Do you shoot Engagement Photos?
Yes. This is a great way to meet with us, and see if we're a good fit.

Do you travel out of Nelson?
Yes. We have shot weddings in Golden Bay, Nelson Lakes, Picton, Blenheim and Christchurch. Accommodation and petrol costs will be additional to the regular prices listed on this website.
